In her hometown of Toronto, Canada, Julia always knew her life would be spent looking at beautiful pictures.

While other kids had posters of Kirk Cameron and New Kids on the Block plastered on their bedroom walls, Julia had a curated gallery of Richard Avedon portraits, Picasso postcards, and National Geographic landscapes hanging on hers.

After University, with a brain full of art history facts, Julia’s start into the advertising world was at Toronto’s Ammirati-Puris, where she filed 4x5 transparencies and pushed the mail cart. It was there that she met one of her female mentors, who told her she should use her savvy organizational skills, love of art and become an Art Producer.

A year later, Julia was offered a job at Cossette Communications-Marketing, Canada’s largest advertising agency. It was there under the tutelage of Art Production pioneer and successful photography blogger, Heather Morton, that Julia worked with the Nation’s most prominent photographers, along with cultivating the careers of promising, young up-and-comers.

After nearly five years of working on brands such as Bell Canada, McDonald’s and Diet Coke, Julia set her sights on the Big Apple.
Having stared at the legendary Warhol Absolut Vodka ad on her teenage bedroom wall, Julia found herself  at TBWA/Chiat/Day NY working on the iconic brand, where her first project was negotiating over 50 works of art, including a Warhol piece.

In her six and a half year stretch at TBWA, Julia worked on countless exciting projects with world renowned photographers and artists, some in which she got to shake Jay Z’s soft hand, talked “leg sweeps” and Westerns with The Karate Kid’s Martin Kove, and dined in a German castle with supermodel Caroline Winberg.  Always a huge fan of Droga5 and their progressive, poignant creative work, Julia was more than ready when the opportunity arose. For just over 4 years at Droga5, Julia kept busy working on brands such as Under Armour, Hennessy, and Diet Coke.

Julia has an identical twin sister, one of her nicknames is Menawesome, and the only trace of a Canadian accent is when she says “sorry”.

Julia is now freelance Art Producing and editing Photographers' Portfolios.
